Please note that for any information concerning the admission procedure, only the  Call for Admission is valid.

Recipients and access requirements

For admission to the Master's Degree Course in Biomedical Engineering, certain access requirements are required as indicated in the Call for Applications (merely by way of example: degree class of origin, credits acquired with exams in certain SSDs, etc.) that the candidate must document within the online application for participation in the competition.

Candidates who meet all of the following requirements can participate in Session I:

  • undergraduates (first degree, excluding second qualifications) who obtain the qualification by 30/10/2026;
  • who have acquired at least 120 CFU as of 7 April 2026;
  • enrolled in the 2023/2024 academic year (current);
  • with a weighted average of 27/30 or greater as of April 7, 2026.

Scholarships covering

As part of Session I (applications must be submitted from 07/04/2026 to 01:00 pm on 28/05/2026), the selection is also foreseen - among the candidates usefully placed in the relevant merit ranking and in possession of the requirements set out in Annex B - of a maximum of n. 10 (ten) candidates who will be able to take an oral test aimed at the selection of n. 4 (four) students admitted to the Excellence Path of the Master's Degree in Biomedical Engineering.

The selection process for admission to the Excellence Program involves an oral exam within the timeframe and according to the procedures set out in Appendix B. This exam is solely for the purpose of admission to the Excellence Program and has no effect on admission to the Degree Program, which is governed by the subsequent articles of this Notice.

The Excellence Program aims to promote students based on merit. Students admitted to the Excellence Program will benefit from:

  • exemption from paying 50% of the single university fee for the entire two-year period of study, in the presence of the assignment and maintenance requirements set out in Annex B;
  • with the support of a teacher;
  • the possibility of carrying out further training and research activities in the University laboratories, as part of the activities planned for the research doctorates already active.

Beneficiary students maintain the scholarship and the right to the Excellence Pathway in the second year if, by 29 October 2027, they have acquired at least 45 CFU and have achieved a weighted average of grades of at least 28/30.

The 4 Scholarships for the Excellence Path referred to in this Call are financed with Funds UCBM and can be increased if necessary in the presence of financial contributions from donors who sponsor the Program.

Enrollment

PHASE I

Following the publication of the ranking list for the 1st Session, the winning candidates proceed to enrolment - PHASE I from 8 June 2026 and no later than 13.00 CEST on 12 June 2026 for the candidates who won the merit ranking of the 1st Session.

Candidates admitted to the oral interview for the purposes of assigning the benefits of the Excellence Pathway, as per Article 1 and Annex B of this Notice, proceed with PHASE I enrollment in the manner and within the deadlines indicated above, as do all other candidates. The four (4) candidates who, following the oral interviews referred to in Annex B, are admitted to the Excellence Pathway, proceed with acceptance of the benefit within two (2) working days from the date of publication of the relevant results7, by sending a specific certified email indicating acceptance of admission to the Pathway to the following certified email address: [email protected].

For candidates admitted to the Program and who have accepted this benefit, the exemption from paying 50% of the single university fee applies by adjusting the amount of the second and third installments of the single fee.

Candidates who do not formally accept the benefit within the timeframe and according to the procedures described above will forfeit its entitlement, but may enroll within the timeframe and according to the procedures applicable to all candidates.

PHASE II

Candidates who have completed PHASE I of the enrollment within the terms and with the methods described above, proceed to enrollment-PHASE II within 3 working days from the date of obtaining the degree, and in any case no later than 4 November 2026 (in case they graduated on 30 October 2026).
