Purpose
The st level University Master's degree in "Nursing assistance and instrumentation in the operating room" IV ed. aims to promote advanced skills in the field of nursing care, in particular as regards the peri-operative, intra-operative and post-operative context.
Reference content and objectives
At the end of the course students will be able to:
- guarantee high levels of quality and safety in the assistance of the surgical patient, during the peri-operative, intra-operative and post-operative phases
- ensure high levels of quality and safety in surgical instrumentation in various specialist areas
- guarantee high levels of quality and safety in the maintenance and management of medical devices in use in the operating block.
Recipients and output profile
The initiative is aimed at nurses in possession of a five-year high school diploma and a University Diploma or other qualification recognized as equivalent (Professional Nurse Diploma, University Diploma in Nursing Sciences, University Diploma for Nursing, Degree Diploma in Nursing according to the Law of 8 January 2002 , No. 1).
The Master is limited in number, for a maximum of 50 participants. The minimum number for activation is 26 participants
Didactic structure
The training course is divided into 7 thematic modules:
- The operating block
- Advanced nursing skills in the operating room
- Surgical instrumentation
- Specialist surgeries 1
- Specialist surgeries 2
- Neurosurgery
- Gynecology and obstetrics
The course lasts 18 months and guarantees the acquisition of 60 credits (equal to 1500 hours). Its modular and part-time formula makes it compatible and contextual with professional commitments and responsibilities.
Frequency
Each meeting will take place on the following days and times:
- Thursday 03:00 pm - 07:00 pm
- Friday 09:00 am - 06:00 pm
- Saturday 09: 00 - 13: 00
Headquarters
The lessons will be held at the headquarters of theUniversità Campus Bio-Medico di Roma, and users will have access to all university services, such as a specialist library, canteen, study room, etc.
Method of admission
The application for admission to the Master must be submitted by 30 June 2015 using the online procedure and requires the insertion of:
- personal data
- resume
- dichiarareplacement certification (available on the site)
- payment of the fee of € 50,00
The selection will be made through curricular evaluation and oral interviews that will take place during the day July 7, 2015. The list of those admitted will be announced on July 9, 2015 by publishing the list on this page.
Registration and payment
Having read the admission, enrollment in the Master's must be done by July 13, 2015. Failure to enroll within this deadline will be considered as withdrawal. Enrollment is considered complete with the sending, via fax, to the Post-Graduate Training Service of the enrollment form provided by the coordination, together with a copy of the bank transfer certifying payment of the first installment. All payments, including the one relating to the admission application, must be made to the bank account held in the name of:

Attendance fee
The enrollment fee for the entire Master is € 2.600,00 to be divided into 2 installments:
- €1.300,00 upon enrollment (July 13, 2015)
- €1.300,00 by 30 July 2016
Specify the reason for each payment.
In no case will the fees be refunded. Enrollment in the Master's is incompatible with simultaneous enrollment in another course of study (first and second cycle degree courses, university diplomas, direct schools for special purposes, specialization schools, research doctorates and masters).

Final certificate
I level Master in Nursing assistance and instrumentation in the operating room. The recognition of training credits is linked to both regular attendance (compulsory for a total of hours of no less than 80% of the lessons and 100% of the traineeship activities), and passing the ongoing and final tests.
