PURPOSE'

The Advanced Training Course in "Advanced Animal Nutrition: From Pets to the Conservation of Endangered Species" responds to a growing demand for specialized expertise in animal nutrition, a crucial area for ensuring the welfare and health of animals in very different contexts. This nutritional approach is of fundamental importance for both companion animals and exotic animals, including species at risk of extinction.

The course aims to provide advanced training that integrates theory and practice, responding to the increasingly diverse challenges that professionals in the sector face. Through a program that ranges from pet care to the conservation of threatened species, participants will acquire specialized skills and operational tools to excel in a dynamic and expanding professional landscape. The ability to ensure animal welfare through optimal nutrition is not only an added value, but a necessity in sectors such as pet care, zoos, rescue centers and biodiversity conservation projects.

RECIPIENTS

The Advanced Training Course is intended for all those who have the right to enroll in the register of veterinarians and all those who have the right to enroll in the register of biologists.

It is therefore intended for those who are in possession of at least one of the following qualifications:

  • Specialist or Master's Degree in Veterinary Medicine (classes 47/S and LM-42)
  • Specialist or Master's Degree in Biology (classes 6/S and LM-6)
  • Specialist or Master's Degree in Agricultural Biotechnology (classes 7/S and LM-7)
  • Master's Degree in Industrial Biotechnology (classes 8/S and LM-8)
  • Specialist or Master's Degree in Medical, Veterinary and Pharmaceutical Biotechnology (classes 9/S and LM-9)
  • Specialist or Master's Degree in Human Nutrition Sciences (classes 69/S and LM-61)
  • Specialist or Master's Degree in Environmental and Territorial Sciences and Technologies (classes 82/S and LM-75)
  • Degree in Biological Sciences according to the regulations prior to Ministerial Decree 3/11/1999, n. 509 (old regulations).
  • Degrees equated by Ministerial Decree 9 July 2009 to classes 6/S, 7/S, 8/S, 9/S, 69/S, 82/S, LM-6, LM-7, LM-8, LM-9, LM-61, LM-75.
  • Educational qualification equivalent to one of the above.

ADMISSION PROCEDURES

The application for admission to the Course must be submitted by 23.59pm on 24 March 2025 using the online procedure available on the page dedicated to the Course and requires the inclusion of:

· personal data;
· Ofchiarareplacement certification;
· identity document;
· payment of €50 for the application for admission.

The selection of candidates is carried out through curricular evaluation and verification of possession of the required qualification.

EDUCATIONAL STRUCTURE AND THEMATIC AREAS

The course lasts 5 months and guarantees the acquisition of 20 CFU.

The course is structured in 3 modules:

1. Introduction to the basic principles of nutritional sciences

2. Nutrition in pets and non-conventional animals

3. Nutrition in conservation biology

The Course will be delivered in blended mode: all meetings will be held remotely in live streaming, with the exception of the first meeting and the final day with the discussion of the project work.

Each meeting will take place on the following days and times:
- Friday from 14.00 pm to 18.00 pm
- Saturday from 09.00 to 13.00 and from 14.00 to 18.00

PARTICIPATION FEE AND REDUCED FEES

The enrollment fee for the entire Advanced Training Course is €2.500,00.

The total amount can be divided into 3 installments:
€1.000,00 upon enrollment (by 03/04/2025)
€750,00 by 31/05/2025
€750,00 by 31/07/2025

All payments, including the one relating to the admission application, must be made to the bank current account in the name of:

A reduced fee of €2.000,00 is foreseen for graduates of theUniversità Campus Bio-Medico di Roma. The discounted rate can also be divided into 3 installments.

The Order of Biologists of Lazio and Abruzzo, for its members, offers 5 scholarships worth €500,00 each.
