Headache training courseis promoted by the Headache Center of the Campus Bio-Medico University Hospital.


Recipients and access requirements
The course is mainly reserved for general practitioners and is open, for a limited number of places and at the discretion of the scientific management and scientific coordination, also to graduates in Medicine and Surgery interested in the subject.


Educational objectives
The Postgraduate Course in Headaches aims to enable healthcare professionals to acquire theoretical and applied knowledge for the correct use of the methodological tools necessary for daily healthcare activity, in the context of the diagnosis and treatment of the main forms of primary and secondary headaches. The teaching methodology includes both frontal lessons and group work on clinical cases, as well as attendance at the clinics of the Headache Center of the Campus Bio-Medico University Hospital. It therefore allows the application of the theoretical knowledge acquired. 


Didactic structure
The course is structured in 4 thematic modules which include integrated forms of theoretical activities, individual learning and practical activities with adequate tutorial support:

  • Primary headaches: migraine (25 March 2017)
  • Primary headaches: tension-type headache and cluster headache (April 21, 2017)
  • Secondary headaches (May 20, 2017)
  • Headaches in emergencies and in the clinic (9 June 2017)

Il first form is ECM accredited.


Internship and final project work
The course includes an internship period at the Campus Bio-Medico University Hospital for a total of 75 hours corresponding to 3 credits. At the end of the course, moreover, the elaboration of a project work is foreseen which will be discussedduring the final exam.


Title awarded
At the end of the course, the title of Specialization in Headache will be issued with the recognition of 10 credits.
The recognition of the training credit is linked to the regular attendance of the training activities (compulsory for a total number of hours of not less than 80% of the lessons and 100% of the training activities) and to the passing of the final exam.

Method of admission
The course is aimed at a maximum of 10 participants. If the applications for admission exceed the number of places established, a curricular selection will be made.
The application for admission to the Specialization Course must be submitted by 12 March 2017 by accessing this page and entering:

The ranking of those admitted will be announced on 17 March 2017 by publishing the list on this page.


Registration and payment
Having read the admission, enrollment in the course must be completed by 22 March 2017Failure to enroll within this deadline will be considered as a withdrawal. Enrollment is considered completed with the sending, to the Post-Graduate Training Service, of the enrollment form provided by the coordination, together with a copy of the bank transfer certifying payment of the enrollment fee. All payments, including that relating to the admission application, must be made to a bank account in the name of: Università Campus Bio-Medico di Roma, at Banca Popolare di Bergamo Credito Varesino – Rome branch, IBAN: IT89J0542803200000000099779.


Attendance fee
The enrollment fee for the entire Specialization Course is 250 euros. The registration fee for auditors is 200 euros. The reason for the payment must be specified. In no case will the fee be refunded. Enrollment in the specialization course is incompatible with simultaneous enrollment in another course of study (degree courses, specialist degrees, university diplomas, direct schools for special purposes, specialization schools, research doctorates and masters).
