Purposes and objectives

The Master aims to provide skills to deal with dilemmatic cases of clinical bioethics and to carry out ethical consultancy activities at Ethics Services or Committees for biomedical practice. The aim is to provide theoretical-practical support tools for those involved in decision-making processes in the health sector, in the face of doubts or moral conflicts that emerge in clinical practice and in related organizational aspects.

Recipients

The Master is aimed at those in possession of a master's degree, a specialist degree, a degree from the old system or an equivalent qualification issued abroad and accompanied by achiaration of value, in the area of ​​health professions, psychology, law and philosophy-theology.

Admission to the Master is based on the comparative evaluation by the Examining Commission of the candidate's scientific and professional curriculum (40% qualifications, 30% experience and any publications produced 10% and a motivational interview 20%). Applications for admission must be submitted by11 January 2021.

The selection will take place on the day 18 January 2021.

The number of those admitted to the University Master's Degree in Clinical Bioethics and Ethical Consulting in the health sector is set at a minimum 15, maximum 45 participants.

Organization of the Masters

The calendar will be divided into 6 intensive weeks and 4 weekends. The expected start date is January 25, 2021. The frontal lessons will all take place in Rome in the various associated locations (UCSC, Campus Bio-Medico and Fatebenefratelli), in the intensive weeks, from Monday (9.00 am) to Friday (12.30 pm) , with the exception of the first and last intensive week which will end on Saturday (12.30); on intensive weekends, on Fridays from 14.00 to 19.00 and Saturdays from 8.30 to 13.30. In some cases, it will be possible to follow the lessons electronically, subject to the consent of the teacher and/or the availability of adequate technical-IT support.

The exercises will be organized at some of the associated offices.

Students are required to participate in at least 80% of the total amount of hours foreseen.

Entry fee

The participation fee is Euro 3.000,00

A discount of Euro 1.000,00 is provided on the participation fee for personnel belonging to the affiliated offices.

Final title

Those who have completed the planned training course and passed the relative assessment tests at the Catholic University of the Sacred Heart and the Campus Bio-Medico University will issue (with a mark out of thirty) the title of second level University Master's Degree in Clinical Bioethics and Ethical Consulting in healthcare field.
