The I Level University Master in “Nursing assistance and instrumentation in the operating room” VIII edition aims to promote advanced skills in the field of nursing care, in particular as regards the peri-operative, intra-operative and post-operative context.
Recipients and access requirements
The Master is aimed at nurses in possession of a five-year high school diploma and a University Diploma or other qualification recognized as equivalent (Law 8 January 2002, n. 1): Professional Nurse Diploma, University Diploma in Nursing Sciences, University Diploma for Nursing, Diploma in Degree in Nursing.
Educational objectives
The objective of the Master is the specialized training of personnel to be assigned to the profession of operating room instrumentalist for general and specialist surgery through the acquisition of specific skills for the planning and care management of the peri-operative paths of interventions with surgeries with a high care impact , of complex care problems, of endoscopic and instrumentalist activities in the various surgical/technological contexts.
Final profile
At the end of the course students will be able to:
- Ensure high levels of quality and safety in surgical patient care, during the peri-operative, intra-operative and post-operative phases
- Ensure high levels of quality and safety in surgical instrumentation in various specialist areas
- Guarantee high levels of quality and safety in the maintenance and management of medical devices in use in the operating block
Didactic structure
The course lasts 18 months, and guarantees the acquisition of 60 credits (equal to 1500 hours). Its modular and part-time formula makes it compatible and contextual with professional commitments and responsibilities.
The 60 credits are divided as follows:
- 34 credits in teaching and study activities
- 16 credits in internship activities
- 10 credits in the elaboration of the master's thesis.
The training course is divided into 9 thematic modules:
- the operating block
- advanced nursing skills in the operating room
- surgical instrumentation
- specialist surgery 1
- specialist surgery 2
- neurosurgery/orthopedics
- robotic surgery
- professional activity
Internship
The Master includes an internship period at the Operating Block of the Campus Bio-Medico University Hospital, for a total of hours corresponding to 16 credits.
In the Operating Block, trainees will be supported by nurses who will play the role of clinical tutors.
To carry out the internship it will be necessary to have medical fitness with the possibility of carrying out visits and tests directly at the Campus Bio-Medico University Hospital (cost of the tests to be paid by the participant).
Scholarships covering
Discounted rates are provided for the staff of the Campus Bio-Medico University Hospital. The amount of each installment is, in this case, €1.000 each. instead of €1.300 each.
Title awarded
To the participant who:
- will have attended at least 80% of the lessons and 100% of the training activity
- will have passed the intermediate tests and the final didactic test
the title of st level University Master in Nursing assistance and instrumentation in the operating room will be issued.
Participation in a University Master provides for the exemption from CME credits in compliance with the Determination of the CNFC of 17 July 2013 on the subject of "Exemptions, Exemptions, Individual Tutoring, Training Abroad, Self-learning, Registration Methods and Certification".
