A bridge between the academic and industrial worlds

July 18 2022 - More than a traditional Summer School, the "Digital Twin Bootcamp 2022" is an intensive three-week experience dedicated to discovering how the Internet of Th worksingse of the main methods and tools of Artificial Intelligence. Now in its fourth edition, leaving on August 22nd, will focus on digital replicas of objects or processes which, using real-time data and algorithms, allow to study performance problems and generate possible solutions to be implemented in reality. The success achieved between students and companies stems from one practical view of learning: the participants, in fact, as well as in the laboratories and in the week dedicated to the Hackathon, can experience what they have learned in the classroom through group work based on real cases provided by the participating Italian and multinational companies.

"During Bootcamp – he explains Stefano Casalegno, Chief Innovation & Sustainability Officer of ENAV e member of the Bootcamp Advisory Board since the first edition of the training course - companies present themselves and launch a challenge on business issues to the students, giving immediate concreteness to the theoretical lessons and explanations on methodologies and technologies". In this sense, Casalegno underlines, "the Bootcamp creates a bridge between the academic and industrial worlds: it allows participants to get an idea of ​​what is required today by the world of work and companies to understand the professional figures emerging from the University and how best to insert them to grasp their potential".

Another point of contact between the two areas is represented by the presence of company tutors, from whom participants can acquire further skills. The Bootcamp, in fact, aims to build a real learning community, also favored by the presence of participants with diversified backgrounds, ranging from students of various faculties to young professionals. Precisely the multidisciplinary approach and team work are among the most appreciated elements, as Casalegno also explains: "The format takes young people out of their 'comfort zone' and encourages themingand to get involved in a new environment, where they find in the group the strength and creativity to solve the challenges and concrete cases posed by companies. On the other hand, there is a great need for digital creativity. "Focusing on young people who want to listen, learn and get involved is one of the strategies in which companies like ENAV strongly believe", concludes Casalegno.
