A network for the integrated approach
Sunday 5 March, theUniversità Campus Bio-Medico di Roma hosted a training event dedicated to Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS), a functional bowel disorder with a high prevalence in the general population and a major impact on quality of life. The course "Functional approach to the patient with IBS" was organized by Pharma Health Institute and promoted by prof.ssa De Gara, Vice Rector of Teaching and Deputy Rector, President of the Master's Degree Course in Food and Human Nutrition Sciences and from prof. Michele Guarino, Professor of Gastroenterology and Delegate of the Rector for Public Engagement.
Professionals from the academic and corporate world met to explore the pathophysiological bases and the most modern therapeutic approaches to IBS in an integrated perspective that sees the experts of the various disciplines in constant dialogue at the service of the patient: general practitioner, gastroenterologist , pharmacist, nutritionist and psychologist are called upon to build a strong and ongoing doctor-patient relationship which allows more and more to promote aintegrated and complete assistance. The Pharma Health Institute is an online Higher Scientific Education School within UNIFARCO, a company that develops, manufactures and markets cosmetics, supplements, medical devices and tests for the pharmacy market.

Michele Guarino, promoter of the synergy between UCBM and the UNIFARCO Company, - consists in the synergy between the company and the academic world in promoting a fruitful and fundamental dialogue between local professionals - the first interface for citizens in need of treatment - and specialized hospital centres, with a view to taking care of the patient at 360 degrees through a consolidated network of experts".
