Prof. Luca Vollero

Associate Professor of Information Processing Systems. His research focuses on distributed and embedded systems, computer communication systems and protocols, digital/graph signal processing, optimization of artificial intelligence algorithms, and their applications in industrial and biomedical fields.

Biography

Luca Vollero He graduated in Telecommunications Engineering at the University Federico II of Naples in 2001. He received his PhD in Computer and Automatic Engineering from the same University in 2005. In 2004 he was a "visiting student" at the "Departamento de Ingenieria Telematica" of the University Carlos III in Madrid (SPAIN). In 2005 he held the position of researcher at the laboratories of CINI (Consorzio Interuniversitario Nazionale per l'Informatica) in Naples. From September 2005 to January 2006 he held the role of researcher at the laboratories of NEC Europe in Heidelber (GERMANY). From 2006 to 2014 he held the role of university researcher at theUniversità Campus Bio-Medico di Roma. Since 2014, Luca Vollero is an associate professor at theUniversità Campus Bio-Medico di Roma.

Curriculum

Luca has been involved in several national (LABNET, QUASAR, WEB-MINDS) and international (E-NEXT, OneLab, CONTENT, DAYDALOS, NetQoS) projects. He is a member of the teaching staff of several Research Doctorates and is supervisor of several national and international doctoral theses. His current research interests concern wireless networks and high-performance networks, multimedia data processing, network protocol design and analysis, performance evaluation of distributed systems and protocols, image processing. He has published more than 100 papers on these topics in international conference proceedings and journals, and is a member of several international conference program committees. Luca is a member of the IEEE, IEEE Communications Society, IEEE Computer Society and the ACM.
