Project objectives
The goal of the project is to implement the current treatment of focal cartilaginous or osteocartilaginous lesions. Even the most recent surgical techniques lead to partially satisfactory results or with progressive loss of benefit over time. The project aims to combine the most innovative tissue bioengineering techniques (osteo- and chondro-genetic scaffolds) with those of regenerative medicine (stem cell therapy) to synergistically exploit the therapeutic potential of both in order to obtain effective and long-lasting treatments in the time.
