Preventing and monitoring onset of synaptic degeneration in early AD

Project objectives

Analysis of the molecular mechanisms leading to the loss of dendritic spines in the hippocampus of the Tg2576 mouse model.

The main objective was to clarify how one of the molecular players involved (calcineurin) could act by causing a progressive loss of synaptic function associated with loss of memory function.
