INTSEPS, Development and validation of an integrated molecular diagnostic system for the rapid diagnosis of sepsis
Project objectivesDevelopment and evaluation of a molecular diagnostic system that allows the microbial species responsible for bacteraemia, the main genes associated with antibiotic resistance, to be detected directly from a whole blood sample during sepsis, and information on the stage of the sepsis episodes by means of the detection of specific pre- and pro-inflammatory cytokines useful for identifying the patient's response to systemic infection. |
