Project objectives

The project's goal is to obtain updated prevalence data on malnutrition among patients undergoing oncology surgery in Italy. This data should increase awareness of metabolic-nutritional issues in oncology surgery, encouraging the inclusion of initial assessment and metabolic-nutritional monitoring in surgical pathways, and extending the concept of a "parallel pathway" to the surgical phase of a patient's oncology care.
