MISE project - Platform for precision medicine. Artificial Intelligence and integrated clinical diagnostics

Project objectives

The project aims to define a collaborative technological infrastructure for the collection of clinical big data, consisting of radiological or histopathological biomedical images and other clinical data such as analytical, proteomic and genomic data, in order to develop methods suitable for precision medicine by exploiting the capacity of typical artificial intelligence algorithms and the sharing of data between clinical research centers. The clinical data, appropriately anonymized a priori, will be shared by the clinical research centers belonging to the project on the IT platform made available to the IIT infrastructure. Even after remote archiving, the data will be the exclusive property of the centers in which they were generated. Following specific agreements between the clinical centers and, after approval by the respective ethics committees, the shared data can be used for the indicated purpose by exploiting the numerical analysis tools made available by the project partners. Each data set will then be challenged with multiple numerical analysis methodologies and the results transferred to clinical centers who will retain ownership for possible subsequent use. Industrial partners will therefore be able to refine their data management and processing methods by implementing new tools or improving those already available.
