MISE project - Platform for precision medicine. Artificial Intelligence and integrated clinical diagnostics

Project objectives

The project aims to implement a collaborative technological platform to support clinical research that facilitates, on the one hand, the aggregation of data distributed among multiple research centers and, on the other, to promote the use of advanced Artificial Intelligence methods for data analysis.

The ultimate goal of the platform is to provide standardized IT tools for sharing information contained in patients' clinical data, in the form of mathematical models that link patients' characteristics with the prediction of their outcome. outcome clinical.

The platform will be developed by meeting the following requirements:

  1. allow the aggregation of information obtainable from clinical big data, consisting of radiological or histopathological biomedical images and other clinical data such as anamnestic, analytical, proteomic and genomic data;
  2. provide clinical partners with suitable tools for visualization and numerical analysis on site data based on user interface and processing protocols defined a priori by the platform;
  3. enable the transfer of calculated classification or regression model parameters on site, to the central server, with appropriate encryption tools;
  4. enable the generation of consensus models obtainable from the set of parameters of the models generated by the research centers collaborating in the same clinical study, through the application of the rules of Federated Learning or with similar methodologies;
  5. enable access to the consent templates for the centers that participated in the clinical study and any other entities interested in their use.
