Project objectives
The SNADE project addresses the vulnerabilities of autonomous drones in extreme environments, where GNSS signals are absent or compromised. It aims to develop intelligent navigation systems that are low in size, weight, energy consumption, and cost (SWaP-C), even usable in swarms. The approach relies on the integration of heterogeneous sensors (optical, inertial, radar, LIDAR, etc.) and advanced information fusion techniques to deliver quantifiable performance in hostile environments.
Particular attention is also dedicated to the design of resilient mesh networks, integrated with advanced security mechanisms, and to the development of tailored algorithms for securing communications.
