Security Liaison Officer (SLO)
Project Objectives
The main objective of the European project "Security Liaison Officer" ("SLO") is to clarify some points of European Directive 114/2008 that deals with the protection of European Critical Infrastructures. In particular, the above-mentioned Directive requires the appointment of a "Security Liaison Officer", who is the link between Critical Infrastructure owners and operators and public authorities. However, the role, background and skills of the professional figure are not specified.
In the absence of a specific reference, each Member State is interpreting different profiles for their Security Liaison Officers, with different responsibilities for the execution of the function. This lack of consistency could lead to the lack of coordination in the case of critical events at European level.
