Agostino Re Rebaudengo was born in Turin on 7 March 1959. He graduated in Economics and Business from the University of Turin and completed his education at UCLA in Los Angeles and at Harvard Business School in Boston.
His entrepreneurial career includes numerous experiences, including the restructuring of the Giulio Einaudi Editore publishing house and the foundation of companies active in the real estate and consultancy sector, in which he held executive roles.
From 1991 to 1999 he was managing director of La Compagnia Immobiliare, a company active in the construction sector. In 2010 he acquired full ownership, became president, changed its name to Ago Renewables and dedicated it to the design and construction of plants for the production of energy from renewable sources and sustainable agriculture. The Group currently employs around 700 people.
In 1995 he founded Asja Ambiente Italia, a company active in the production of energy from renewable sources and in the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions, and he is still its president today. Born from the idea of transforming waste into a resource, over the years the company has also seen notable growth in the wind power, photovoltaic, energy efficiency and biomethane production sectors. Today Asja is a leader in Italy in the energy valorization of biogas generated from the organic fraction of solid urban waste as well as being one of the major players at an international level. Investee companies in China, Argentina, Brazil and Colombia are also part of the Asja Group. Today the Group has around 200 employees and around 100 plants, between those built and those under construction, which, thanks to the renewable energy produced, provide for the needs of over 1.000.000 people as well as avoiding the use of 980.000 barrels of oil and l 'emission of 1.800.000 tonnes of CO2 into the atmosphere.
The commitment made in the energy sector is also reflected in associative life.
Chemist, from 1988 to 2020 he worked in the R&D department of Procter & Gamble, holding numerous managerial positions in various locations. The last was as Senior Technical Director at the P & G research center in Brussels, from 2015 to 2020. He led research and technological innovation groups at an international level; he has been Project Leader in various projects funded by the European Community; led collaborations with large multinational industrial partners; he has been a member of the European Technology Council of Procter & Gamble since 2004. He is the author of over 200 international patents and has been an invited lecturer in numerous courses and summer schools in Italy and abroad.
He is currently a contract professor at the Faculty ofIngengineering ofUniversità Campus Bio-Medico di Roma, where he also serves as director of the "Grand Challenges" program, and Visiting Research Fellow at the National Institute of Chemical Physics and Biophysics (Estonia).
