Recipients and output profile
The master is aimed at nurses in possession of a five-year high school leaving certificate and a University Diploma or other qualification recognized as equivalent (Professional Nurse Diploma, University Diploma in Nursing Sciences, University Diploma for Nursing, Degree Diploma in Nursing according to the Law of 8 January 2002, #1)
Educational objectives
The objective of the Master is the specialized training of personnel to be assigned to the profession of operating room instrumentalist for general and specialist surgery through the acquisition of specific skills in terms of knowledge, skills and attitudes required for the management of care processes in the surgical area. At the end of the course, students will be able to guarantee high levels of quality and safety in assisting the surgical patient, during the peri-operative, intra-operative and post-operative phases; in the surgical instrumentation of various specialist areas; in the maintenance and management of medical devices in use in the operating block.
Didactic structure
The course lasts 18 months and guarantees the acquisition of 60 credits (equal to 1500 hours). Its modular and part-time formula makes it compatible and contextual with professional commitments and responsibilities. The 60 credits are divided as follows: 34 credits in teaching and study activities, 16 credits in internship activities, 10 credits in the elaboration of the master's thesis. The training course is divided into 8 thematic modules (for module 3, which deals with the sterilization centre, ECM accreditation is required):

Internship method
The Master includes an internship period at the Operating Block of the Campus Bio-Medico University Hospital for a total of hours corresponding to 16 credits. In the Operating Block, trainees will be supported by nurses who will play the role of clinical tutors.

One meeting per month structured over three days lasting a total of 16 hours:

- Saturday 09.00 - 13.00

Final certificate
I level Master in Nursing assistance and instrumentation in the operating room. The recognition of training credits is linked to both regular attendance (compulsory for a total of hours of no less than 80% of the lessons and 100% of the traineeship activities) and passing the ongoing and final tests. ECM credit exemption: Decision of the CNFC of 17 July 2013 on the subject of "Exemptions, Exemptions, Individual Tutoring, Training Abroad, Self-learning, Registration Methods and Certification".
Method of admission
To be admitted to the Level I University Master's Degree in "Nursing assistance and instrumentation in the operating room", candidates must pass a motivational interview and an evaluation of their study and scientific/professional curriculum. The application for admission (complete with admission form, payment of a fee of 50 euros, curriculum vitae in European format) must be submitted no later than 18 July 2017. The motivational interviews will take place at theUniversità Campus Bio-Medico di Roma on 25 July 2017. The ranking of those admitted will be announced on 26 July 2017 by publishing the list of winners on this same page.
Presentation of the CV
The curriculum vitae and studiorum must be presented in European format, indicating in addition to the personal data also the training and professional experiences and any scientific and teaching activity.
Registration and payment
Once confirmation of admission has been received, enrollment in the Master's course must be carried out by 29 July 2017. Failure to enroll within this deadline will be considered as a withdrawal. Enrollment is considered completed with the sending, via fax, to the Post Graduate Training Service of the enrollment form provided by the coordination, together with a copy of the bank transfer certifying payment of the first instalment. All payments, including that relating to the admission application, must be made to the bank account in the name of Università Campus Bio-Medico di Roma, at UBI Banca Spa - IBAN: IT34T0311103253000000099779. The registration fee for the entire Master's course is 2.600 Euros to be divided into 2 instalments:
- €1.300 upon enrollment (July 29, 2017)
- €1.300 by 30 July 2016 (30 July 2018)
In no case will the fees be refunded. Enrollment in the Master's is incompatible with simultaneous enrollment in another course of study (first cycle degree courses, specialist degree courses, university diplomas, direct schools for special purposes, specialization schools, research doctorates and masters).
