The Master is aimed at providing preparation at a systemic level and with a holistic vision on the subject of "corporate security" with reference to the many aspects that revolve around this theme.

In particular, it aims to provide the methodological tools and knowledge necessary for those who, in both the public and private sectors, must be able to understand security problems and define, implement and consciously manage systems, procedures and actions to be adopted to prevent, counter and limit the various threats as well as manage any anomalous, alarm or crisis situations with the aim of minimising the negative effects on users, the population and the company and promoting a rapid restoration of operating conditions.

Recipients and access requirements

The Master envisages, among its participants, the figure of learners, reserved for those in possession of a Master's degree or equivalent, and that of auditors, reserved for those who do not have said title but have proven professional experience of at least 3 years. Learners can come from different study paths, such as engineering, law, economics, criminological sciences, computer science, political science, etc. The Master is aimed, among others, at civil and military Public Administration officials, Embassy officials, journalists and private sector executives.

Enrollment in the Master is compatible with enrollment in another university course in accordance with the provisions of Law no. 33 of 12/04/2022 and by DM 930 of 29/07/2022.

Final profile

The Master aims to train professionals capable of:

  • carry out technical and socio-economic analyzes to highlight the phenomena of threat, vulnerability and risk for the system;
  • identify technical-organizational solutions aimed at preventing and contrasting these phenomena;
  • design, build, implement and manage integrated security systems.

The didactic plan of the Master satisfies the requirement of the regulations:

UNI 10459:2017 standard which defines the requirement relating to the professional figure of the "Security Manager".

Didactic structure and thematic areas

The II Level Master in Homeland Security confers 60 university training credits (CFU) as required by Art. 7, paragraph 4 of Ministerial Decree 270/2004 and has a total duration of one academic year.

The 60 credits, equal to 1.500 hours of training activities, are divided as follows:

  • 44 credits of classroom teaching;
  • 16 credits internship and elaboration of the final project work.

The teaching includes 5 technical modules plus a job orientation and soft skills module.

The Master will be delivered in blended mode, i.e. 60% of the lessons will be in the classroom and 40% of the lessons in live streaming. The Integrated Digital Teaching part will therefore constitute 40% of the total hours.

Internship

The purpose of the curricular internship is to complete the theoretical knowledge acquired during the Master with concrete operational experience to be carried out in one of the companies that support the Master, or in other structures operating in the "Homeland Security" sector.

320 hours of activity corresponding to 2 months are attributed to the curricular internship.

For those who are already employed by an institution or company, the curricular internship can be developed within the same with the development of a training project to be implemented in a sector related to "Homeland Security". There is no lump-sum refund for them.

The curricular internship phase concludes with the dissertation, in front of a specifically established Evaluation Commission, of the final Project Work elaborated during the curricular internship. The dissertation will be held on the final day of the Master.

Method of admission

The application for admission to the Master must be submitted no later than 23pm on 59 February 27 using the online procedure and requires the inclusion of:

- personal data and contact details;

- information relating to the qualification;

- curriculum vitae;

- identity document;

- Ofchiarareplacement certification;

- data of the admission fee transfer (€60).

Participation fee and reduced rates

The enrollment fee for the Master is equal to € 8.000,00 to be paid in two instalments.

THEUniversità Campus Bio-Medico di Roma provides:

  • up to a maximum of 2 scholarships to fully cover the tuition fee for an amount of € 8.000,00 reserved for master's degree graduates for less than two years who are unemployed or unemployed;
  • up to a maximum of 6 scholarships to partially cover the enrollment fee for an amount of € 4.000,00 reserved for natural persons with the exclusion of those who carry out their usual professional activity (VAT number holders).

Title awarded

Students who complete the Master and are in compliance with administrative obligations will be awarded the title of "II Level University Master in Homeland Security - systems, methods and tools for security and crisis management".

Those who attend the Master as auditors will not obtain the qualification and will be issued a certificate of attendance with profit.
