The University Master's Degree in "Nursing assistance and operating room equipment" III edition, is promoted by the area in Nursing SciencesUniversità Campus Bio-Medico di Roma.
Purpose
At the end of the course, students who have attended the lessons and the training internship will be able to:
- Ensure high levels of quality and safety in surgical patient care, during the peri-operative, intra-operative and post-operative phases
- Ensure high levels of quality and safety in surgical instrumentation in various specialist areas
- Guarantee high levels of quality and safety in the maintenance and management of medical devices in use in the operating block
WHAT: Reference contents and objectives of the master
The objective of the Master is the specialized training of personnel to be assigned to the profession of operating room instrumentalist for general and specialist surgery through the acquisition of specific skills in terms of knowledge, skills and attitudes required for the management of care processes in the surgical area.
At the end of the course students will be able to:
- guarantee high levels of quality and safety in the assistance of the surgical patient, during the peri-operative, intra-operative and post-operative phases
- ensure high levels of quality and safety in surgical instrumentation in various specialist areas
- guarantee high levels of quality and safety in the maintenance and management of medical devices in use in the operating block
- participate in the development of personnel training projects, in the specific field
WHO: Recipients and output profile
The initiative is aimed at nurses in possession of a five-year high school diploma and a University Diploma or other qualification recognized as equivalent (Professional Nurse Diploma, University Diploma in Nursing Sciences, University Diploma for Nursing, Degree Diploma in Nursing according to the Law of 8 January 2002 , No. 1).
The Master is limited in number, for a maximum of 50 participants. The minimum number for activation is 26 participants.
HOW: Didactic structure
The training course is divided into 8 thematic modules:
I. The operating block
II. Advanced nursing skills in the operating room
III. Surgical instrumentation
IV. Specialist surgeries 1
V. Specialist surgeries 2
YOU. Neurosurgery
VII. Gynecology and obstetrics
VIII. Robotic surgery
Duration
The course lasts 18 months, and guarantees the acquisition of 60 credits (equal to 1500 hours). Its modular and part-time formula makes it compatible and contextual with professional commitments and responsibilities.
Frequency
Each meeting will take place on the following days and times:
- Thursday 15.00 - 19.00
- Friday 09.00 – 18.00
- Saturday 09.00 - 13.00

WHERE: Headquarters of the Master
The lessons will be held at the headquarters of theUniversità Campus Bio-Medico di Roma, and users will have access to all university services, such as a specialist library, canteen, study room, etc.

Method of admission
The application for admission to the Master must be submitted using the online procedure available at the following internet address: www.unicampus.it and provides for the inclusion of:
- personal data
- resume
- dichiarareplacement certification (available on the site)
- payment of the fee of 50 €
The selection will be made through curricular evaluation and oral interviews.
Scholarships covering
There are no scholarships.
Registration and payment
Having read the admission, enrollment in the Master's must be done by 11 July 2014.
Failure to enroll within this deadline will be considered as withdrawal.
Enrollment is considered complete with the sending, by fax, to the Postgraduate Training Service of the enrollment form provided by the coordination, together with a copy of the bank transfer certifying payment of the st installment.
All payments, including the one relating to the admission application, must be made to the bank account held in the name of:

Attendance fee
The enrollment fee for the entire Master is € 2600 to be divided into 2 installments:
- €1.300 upon enrollment (July 11, 2014)
- €1.300 by 30 July 2015
Specify the reason for each payment. In no event will the fees be refunded.
Enrollment in the Master's is incompatible with simultaneous enrollment in another course of study (first degree courses, specialist degree courses, university diplomas, direct schools for special purposes, specialization schools, research doctorates and masters).

Internship: Company internships and final project work
The Master includes an internship period at the Operating Block of the Campus Bio-Medico University Hospital in Rome, for a total of hours corresponding to 15 credits. In the Operating Block, trainees will be supported by nurses who will play the role of clinical tutors. To carry out the internship in the operating room it is necessary to have medical fitness.
Final certificate
I level Master in Nursing assistance and instrumentation in the operating room. The recognition of training credits is linked to both regular attendance (compulsory for a total of hours of no less than 80% of the lessons and 100% of the traineeship activities), and passing the ongoing and final tests.
