Sulmona, 13 January - 700 young students from Abruzzo in search of their future filled the Maria Caniglia theater in Sulmona on Monday 13 January on the occasion of the “#UCBM MEET”. The morning of orientation and information was organized byUniversità Campus Bio-Medico di Roma which together with local institutions, wanted to give young people high schools of Avezzano, Sulmona, Pratola Peligna, Castel Di Sangro and Popoli the opportunity to discover the educational offer and the many scholarships of the university located within the Decima Malafede Nature Reserve in Rome.

The day was opened from Bishop of Sulmona Michele Fusco who reminded young people of the importance of studying, especially in this period in which skills are essential, and encouraged them to prepare and have faith in the future. The councilor for culture of the municipality of Sulmona, Manuela Cozzi, spoke next to him. Also present were the mayors of Pratola Peligna, Antonella DiNino and the mayor of Popoli, Concezio Galli.

Before following his institutional commitments the president of the Abruzzo Region Marco Marsilio he wanted to bring a personal greeting to the young people present. In her speech she encouraged the students to choose their university studies well, recalling the importance of young people for the development of the entire Abruzzo region.

President Marsilio also hoped for a future presence of theUniversità Campus Bio-Medico di Roma in Abruzzo to carry out quality training activities and accepted the invitation of the general director Ucbm Andrea Rossi for a meeting in Rome at the University aimed at evaluating possible collaborations between UCBM and the Abruzzo region.

They also spoke during the morning Augusto Ferrini, sixth year medical student and current President of the Student Council ofUniversità Campus Bio-Medico di Roma e Pino Ferreri, former student of the Campus in Food Sciences and Human Nutrition. Then came the moment of orientation: in his speech the general director of theUniversità Campus Bio-Medico di Roma, Andrea Rossi, explained the possibilities offered by 11 active degree courses and the new master's degree course, in activation, of intelligent systems engineering.

A reality, the Campus Bio-Medico, which ranges between subjects that offer countless opportunities to enter the world of work such as Medicine and Surgery (also in English), Engineering (Biomedical, Industrial and Chemistry for Sustainable Development) ei specialized degree programs in the field such as the Food and Human Nutrition Sciences (three-year and master's) and the Food Sciences and Technologies and Supply Chain Management which aim to train food company managers. To complete the picture, degrees in great demand both in the public and private sectors such as those in Nursing, Physiotherapy and Medical Radiology Techniques for Imaging and Radiotherapy.

There is ample space dedicated to the possibilities for registering for theUniversità Campus Bio-Medico di Roma offered in the year 2020-21 from 115 university scholarships for an investment that will exceed a total of one million euros.

The day also made a short one available to Peligni students chemical engineering lecture by professor Marcello de Falco centered on the very topical theme of climate change and the solutions for the environment that can come from the development of new materials and molecules to increase environmental sustainability. Finally with the simulation of the admission test, students were able to find out in advance how to take an access test to university courses and what kind of preparation is required of them.

During the morning, thanks to the interventions of the university guidance specialists and Campus Bio-Medico teachers, local students were helped to discover the study paths closest to their inclinations and to get an idea of ​​what an international university that looks to innovation and the future and believes in synergies between university and business can offer today.

The initiative aroused the appreciation of teachers and students who, at the end of the event, entertained themselves in the theater premises asking for explanations and receiving brochures and information materials from the University.
