Internationality and exchange of professional experiences for the 'Alumni Association' Convention, scheduled for 29 and 30 May. We also vote for the new Board of Directors
The Convention organized by the Campus Bio-Medico Alumni Association aims at internationality and sharing of professional experiences next 29 and 30 May. At the fourth edition of the annual meeting which brings together former students of theUniversità Campus Bio-Medico di Roma, Delia D'Avola, Giuseppe Savoja, will give their testimony Antonio Di Zazzo, Martina Boscolo Berto and Antonio Abbate, who currently carry out their professional activity abroad, between Europe and the United States. The appointment is for Friday, May 29, at 15.30 pm, in the Aula Magna del Trapezio.
During the Convention, the preliminary results of the research conducted by the winners of the competitions will also be presented scholarships announced by 'Alumni' in 2014. For two years, in fact, the Association has been offering its support to young members, encouraging mobility abroad for training internships or professional collaborations in centers of excellence. Thanks to last year's funding, Emanuela Altobelli, a specialist in Urology, who conducted research at Stanford University, went to the United States and Ernesto Maddaloni, specializing in Endocrinology and Metabolic Diseases, left for Harvard Medical School in Boston. And while Beatrice Bertozzi, graduated in Food Science and Human Nutrition is still abroad for study and research at Washington University in Saint Louis, Emiliano Schena, a researcher in Biomedical Engineering, recently returned from the City of Hope Medical Center in Duarte, California, to bring back to the Campus Bio-Medico the know-how he learned overseas.
Another peak moment of the day will beOrdinary meeting, scheduled for 14.30 pm, for the election of the new Board of Directors, which will remain in office for the next three years. Last March 28, the University Executive Committee confirmed Dr. Manuele Casale President of the Association and proposed a shortlist of candidates, from which the new four councilors will be chosen. Only members up to date with the 2015 membership fee, equal to 40 euros, which must be paid, will be able to participate in the election of the new Board of Directors of the Association. by 3 May 2015. The Association aims to grow by giving more and more space to the members. Since the entry into force of the new Statute in March 2014, it is also open to undergraduate students and companies. Therefore, students in the last two years of the course are also open, who can participate in the Convention free of charge and join the Association by paying a reduced fee (20 euros).
The day will conclude with a cocktail dinners at the Grand Hotel de la Minerve (Piazza della Minerva, 69 Rome), while a guided tour of the Museum of Villa Torlonia is organized for Saturday 30 May. The proceeds of the social dinner will be used for new scholarships for internships abroad. Facilitating exchanges and collaborations in the field of teaching, research and professional training is, in fact, one of the priority objectives of the Association. New agreements are expected to be activated for next year, also with clinical centres, to promote theoretical-practical courses to be offered to young members.
