Research, innovation and quality of training courses are the cornerstones of the agreement
Rome, 22 July 2021 - Medtronic Italy, a leading provider of medical technologies, services and solutions theUniversità Campus Bio-Medico di Roma have signed today an agreement to promote research, innovation and the quality of training courses in the fields of biomedical engineering, medicine and life sciences.
The deed was signed at the University headquarters by Medtronic Italia, Michele Perrino, President and Chief Executive Officer of the company and for the University Campus Bio-Medico il Rector of the University, Prof. Raffaele Calabrò and the General Director, Dr. Andrea Rossi.
The goal is to pursue ever higher standards of care from a scientific, technological, economic and social point of view with the intention of improving health care through all the tools of knowledge and expertise in the field of medical technologies, thanks to the know-how and expertise of the two realities.
The agreement signed with theuniversità Campus Bio-Medico di Roma represents a further initiative capable of offering joint programming for a vast range of initiatives such as, for example, the national strategic doctoral program on Artificial Intelligence for Health and Life Sciences or the activation of joint laboratories (Joint-Labs ) for carrying out research of common interest.
With this agreement, Medtronic and the Campus Bio-Medico University of Rome will undertake to share interventions and training contributions through the Make - Master Knowledge Advanced Experience platform - which Medtronic launched three years ago and shared with numerous universities including UniSalento (Lecce), and The Federico II University of Naples. L'Università Campus Bio-Medico di Roma it will thus become a Hub connected with the offices of Mirandola, Milan, Naples and Lecce.

The agreement is part of the Medtronic Open Innovation Lab project launched in 2019 which intends to support and connect biomedical hubs of excellence by combining the centers of academic and industrial knowledge to create value and facilitate synergy and growth, focusing on strong potential present in our country.

And thanks to this collaboration, we will enhance the training and research paths of our university, aiming to achieve ever higher and more competitive standards at an international level".
