Rome, 26 February 2022 - #student4peace is the hashtag created by the National Association of Principals of Rome and Lazio with theUniversità Campus Bio-Medico di Roma to give voice and listen to what young students and university students think on the topic of peace. University students and those from schools in Rome and Lazio will be able to send their videos on the social networks TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, Facebook, Twitter gathered in the single portal www.student4peace.eu which is being created in these hours.
A single large container for kids who want to tell their emotions in 120 seconds of video, on this particular historical moment that keeps the whole world in suspense and more generally on the theme of peace. A web platform that will collect video contributions from students to turn on lights of hope and peace starting from the words of Pope Francis: "Stop the war".
Raffaele Calabrò, Rector of the Campus Bio-Medico University of Rome, gives the news as follows: “To the young people with student4peace we entrust the task of suggesting ways to build peace in the world. For this very reason, universities and schools must work in synergy, giving voice to both university and school students at the same time. When yesterday afternoon Mario Rusconi, president of ANP-Roma, proposed the idea to me which we then concretely developed together, he immediately found my agreement. Every day in the classrooms of our university campus we aim to train people who are inspired in life and work by the concepts of harmony, balance and peace. Only in peace can there be personal growth and scientific research fully aimed at the progress and development of men".
Calabrò's words are echoed by Mario Rusconi, president of ANP-Lazio: “I thank the Rector of theUniversità Campus Bio-Medico di Roma Raffaele Calabrò for having accepted the idea of having students from schools in Rome and Lazio talk together with those from the university world on a theme, that of peace, which is universal. We believe that the sensitivity of young people can provide a concrete and relaxing contribution on the issue of peace. Our students will certainly be able, through those technologies that they know well and constantly use, to light a beacon of hope and solidarity on the internet."
It adds up Christine Costarelli, president of the ANP-Lazio, who ofchiara: "An initiative, that of student4peace, strongly desired by the principals of Lazio which today for the first time turns on, and which we trust will never go out thanks to the contribution of our boys who will thus be able to illuminate paths to build bridges of peace in the world" . The Student4peace.eu initiative, also joined by the Levi-Montalcini Association and etutorweb.it, is for the founders a path of shared citizenship among young people who experience themselves in school and university through the culture of knowledge and know.
