“In thanking theUniversità Campus Bio-Medico di Roma for the awarding of the prestigious “Sine Cura” award for the Master in Homeland Security – said Gen. Luzi - I would like to underline how this recognition actually belongs to all the Carabinieri for the great work they carry out every day in the service of the country's security. In fact, I welcome the "sine cura" award by virtue of the "cum cura" action of each Carabiniere whom I ideally represent, i.e. that citizens can count on an institution which is delegated the task of taking care of and pre-taking care of them and their safety. A task entrusted to the Arma for more than two hundred years not only in the traditional fields, but also in the more current ones, such as cybersecurity, the digital world, energy, the environment, health, food safety and cultural protection . The Arma is particularly pleased to be able to promote training and orientation curricular internships with the University at its offices.
The “Sine Cura” award was born in 2018 on the occasion of ten years of the "Master in Homeland Security - Systems, methods and tools for Security and Crisis Management" and rewards the figures who most of all have distinguished themselves in the safety and security sectors. The expression "sine cura", in Latin "without concern", indicates those activities that a citizen did not have to deal with because they were delegated to others, and is at the origin of the term security: those who work in these areas have the necessary skills to guarantee the smooth running of social life, provide to risk prevention, provide timely intervention in case of emergencies.
In his story theUniversità Campus Bio-Medico di Roma has always given space to safety issues, within its degree courses as well as in clinical and food safety, dedicating teaching and scientific research spaces. The Master in Homeland Security is divided into teaching activities, training internships and project work for a total of 60 credits (ECTS) and a total of 1500 hours.
