Inaugurated within the Advanced Research Center ofUniversità Campus Bio-Medico di Roma, the Co-Innovation LAB will focus its activity on the digital health sector but also on the fields of Circular Economy, Digital Learning and Industry 4.0, selecting projects inspired by models of sustainability, circularity and digital transition.
It will be an open environment, a factory of ideas, the ideal place to foster contamination and virtuous collaboration as a strategic lever of value for technology transfer.
In the era of digital innovation, the ability to "create a system" between complementary innovation players makes it possible to transform new business ideas into concrete innovative solutions more effectively. This is what is organized in the Hub, also with the help of an enabling digital platform that favors and accelerates the processes of construction and management of co-innovation practices.
The debut project of the Co-Innovation LAB - presented on the occasion of the inauguration event - is called Eye4Care: a platform capable of supporting those who work on the front line in Healthcare, connecting operators in the ward and remote operators in real time (specialist doctors, health technicians, etc.). A useful tool to offer supervision, training and accompaniment in procedures, patient pre-triage, "hands-free" collection of vital parameters and much more.
The high quality audio-video connection is supported by the collaboration platform Cisco webex, while "in the field" devices such as smart glasses and a smartphone app are used, which allow you to interact and manage the various activities.
Eye4Care was conceived by Headapp, start-up selected and funded by the accelerator Marzotto Venture Accelerator following a dedicated “call for ideas”. Headapp combines various digital technologies related to virtual reality to improve the work of doctors, technicians and operators from different sectors, and was presented by the head of Innovation, Architecture and Digital Transformation of Cisco Italia Enrico Mercadante.
