L'Università Campus Bio-Medico di Roma has transformed into a laboratory of creative energy and sharing. The fourteenth edition of the Sport, Art, Science and Culture Week, a unique opportunity to rediscover the value of relationships, creativity and knowledge, making the Campus a stage for discussion and experimentation that goes beyond the academic dimension, bringing students, teachers, researchers and technical-administrative staff closer to cultural, sporting and spiritual themes. A unique event in the national academic panorama, which puts the person at the center, combining training, culture, sport, memory and spirituality.

Born in 2012 to remember Saverio Tombolini, a student who died prematurely, the event has been able to evolve without losing its heart: the 'Campus' Got Talent', a choral show in which students, teachers and staff find themselves expressing themselves creatively, abandoning traditional academic roles to become, together, protagonists and spectators of a space of free expression. "This week represents an authentic and different way of experiencing relationships in our University", says the prof Marcella Trombetta, Dean of the Departimental Faculty of Science and Bio-Technology. "Saverio was a boy who was deeply passionate about art: he loved music, acting and theatre. When he passed away, together with his family we thought that the best way to honour his memory was to create a space where the whole community could freely express their talent and share it". Around that founding moment, a complex and interdisciplinary program has developed over the years: sports activities, concerts, theater workshops, conferences, spiritual events and public meetings that offer the university community an opportunity to question central themes of contemporaneity.

Among this year's events, the "Run for Liver", a race dedicated to the prevention of liver disease and the promotion of liver health, during which free specialist consultations were also offered at the Campus Bio-Medico Porta Pinciana Outpatient Clinic. "The initiative was created to shed light on the key role that physical activity plays in preventing these pathologies", commented Giovanni Galati, hepatologist and creator of the event together with colleagues from the Clinical Medicine and Hepatology Operating Unit of the Fondazione Policlinico Universitario Campus Bio-Medico, who then continued: "Metabolic syndrome, in fact, can affect up to 30-40% of the population and is related to a sedentary lifestyle and excessive eating".

Sports tournaments in memory of the teacher. Sergio Morini, esteemed teacher and passionate supporter of sporting activity as an educational and training tool, the show "The Hunchback of Notre Dame" curated by the theatre laboratory UCBM and achievement tribute concert to Lucio DallaWith the participation of Luke Pugliese and the music critic Dario Salvator.

The conference "Which sport for a culture of hope?”, Moderated by the journalist Lorraine Bianchetti, instead proposed a reflection on the role of sport in building the future, with guests such as Paralympic champion Daniele Cassioli, the young talent of computer science Lorenzo Foti, Excel world champion and the Director of the Youth Sector of Frosinone Calcio Alessandro Frara fresh from winning the Primavera2 championship.

Making the week even more meaningful are the various moments of spirituality, such as the mass in honor of the blessed Álvaro del Portillo, an inspiring figure of the University, and the procession of the Our Lady of Ours, a popular and identifying symbol, which will cross the Campus in a gesture of devotion and belonging.

"This week represents an intentional suspension of ordinary university time.” – explains the prof. Luca Borghi, professor of history of medicine – an occasion in which the academy consciously chooses to slow down to foster a more authentic encounter between people. We remember Blessed Álvaro, an inspiring figure of the University, and at the same time we celebrate art, culture and sociality. It is a special moment because, before the rush for summer exams, the community finds itself in a different dimension, in which study remains at the center but is intertwined with relationships, emotions and shared memory. This relational fabric gives meaning and depth to daily commitment and to university life as a whole."

For a week, at Campus Bio-Medico, academic knowledge intertwines with the beauty of art, the value of sport and the strength of memory and human relationships. A week that does not interrupt university life, but rather reveals its deepest meaning. See you in 2026!
