Vincenzo German, Director General of the Polytechnic University of Turin, is the new President of the CODAU (Conference of the General Directors of University Administrations) for the 2026-2029 term. At his side, Lucia Colitti, Director General of the University of Rome "Foro Italico," has been elected Deputy Vice President, while Pietro Di Benedetto, Director General of the University of L'Aquila, will serve as Vice President.
The new governance, expression of the list "Networking to grow together", aims to consolidate CODAU as a point of reference for General Directors and university managers and as a technical-institutional interlocutor of the Italian university system.
"I welcome this result with gratitude and with a strong sense of responsibility towards the entire CODAU community," has ofchiarato the newly elected President Vincenzo German. We will build on the positive aspects of the previous governance to further strengthen CODAU's national role. We want to bring a unified, competent, and proactive voice to the discussions where the university's future is decided. "Networking to grow together" will be our approach: collegiality in decision-making, participation in developing proposals, and concrete results for the universities and the country.
I would like to extend my sincere best wishes for their future work to the President, the new Board of Directors, and all my colleagues who have taken on their new roles. I am confident that, thanks to their expertise and commitment, CODAU will continue to strengthen its role in serving the university system. Among the priorities of the new mandate are the Strengthening the role of university management, enhancing technical and administrative skills, ensuring the sustainability of the university system in the post-NRRP phase, digital transformation, artificial intelligence, and cybersecurity.
During the first year, new support tools for universities will also be launched, including an Observatory on the Ordinary Financing Fund, the relaunch of training for General Directors, the design of the CODAU digital platform, and the development of guidance documents on the main strategic issues for the university system.
