L'Università Campus Bio-Medico di Roma welcomed today the institutional visit of theAmbassador of the United Arab Emirates to Italy, HE Abdulla Ali Ateeq Obaid AlSubousi, in a meeting dedicated to dialogue on research, innovation, training and international cooperation.
The Ambassador was received in the Council Chamber by a delegation from the University led by the Rector, teacher. Rocco Papalia, together with the Vice-Rector for Research, teacher. Leandro Pecchia, and to the Dean of the Departmental Faculty of Engineering, teacher. Alessio Gizzi.
The visit represented an important opportunity to present the reality of theUniversità Campus Bio-Medico di Roma to a key figure in a strategic area, with whom the University shares a particular focus on development and cooperation on the African continent.
During the morning, the Ambassador visited some of the most representative spaces of the Campus, from PRAB al Cube, focusing in particular on the Simulation Center, which has aroused great interest due to the high level of technologies and training activities.
During the meeting the main lines of research of the University, the offer of the three Departmental Faculties and the multidisciplinary model which characterizes theUniversità Campus Bio-Medico di Roma. Ample space was also dedicated to the patents and to university spin-offs, an expression of research oriented towards innovation and technological transfer, without losing sight of the centrality of the person and the founding values of the University.
During the meeting, the Ambassador expressed his appreciation for the identity of theUniversità Campus Bio-Medico di Roma, underlining how, alongside the focus on scientific and technological development, a strong rootedness in values and culture emerges, a distinctive element compared to many other international academic institutions.

Even the Vice-Rector for Research, prof. Leandro Pecchia, highlighted the value of the meeting:We are delighted to have welcomed the Emirati Ambassador to our University. Our commitment to research has been greatly appreciated. In particular, our ability to conduct multidisciplinary research, bringing together seemingly disparate areas while maintaining the centrality of the individual, was greatly appreciated. We also reaffirmed our shared interest in Africa, a continent that can grow rapidly if supported constructively.
The meeting laid the foundation for potential future academic and scientific collaborations, strengthening the University's internationalization efforts and fostering dialogue with the United Arab Emirates on topics of mutual interest, from research and education to international cooperation projects, with a particular focus on the development of the African continent.
