Porous bioactive material based on hyaluronic acid/fibrin with controlled topical release of an anti-angiogenic drug (bevacizumab) for applications in the regeneration of cartilage and/or nucleus pulposus of the intervertebral disc. The obtained scaffold is able to support neo-cartilage formation when ectopically implanted in vivo. The invention may have a direct repercussion in the clinic, both in the field of technical matrix assisted cell therapy (MACI), and as a construct for regenerative medicine applications.

Blood test that allows early diagnosis of pancreatic adenocarcinoma. The main difference with respect to the traditional proteomic approach consists in the use of one-dimensional electrophoresis, a low-cost, fast and very widespread experimental technique in clinical laboratories. This method allows early diagnosis of pancreatic adenocarcinoma, in a very insidious tumor since it is often asymptomatic or with non-specific symptoms in the initial stages, and with a very rapid course in the advanced stages.

Method for the determination of a predictive index of the risk of endometrial cancer (Italian patent)

Risk stratification algorithm (REM-7 Score) for endometrial cancer. Method that allows to identify the most significant regions of the genome for the estimation of the tumor mutational burden (TMB). The method implements the use of machine learning methods to solve the problem. Through this method it is possible to optimize the length of the panel for the estimation of the TMB, identifying the highly informative regions of the genome, with a reduction of the quantities of genome to be sequenced and, consequently, with a reduction of the costs for the estimation of the TMB in patients with cancer.

Adipose tissue purification technique to obtain a high concentration of adipose stem cells (Italian patent)

Technique for obtaining a purified, autologous and histocompatible biological regenerative matrix, mainly consisting of stem cells. The method has the advantage of being low cost and with minimal manipulation through mechanical procedures; in fact, the use of special equipment or chemical agents is not required, while obtaining a product with a higher concentration of stem cells than other techniques with minimal manipulation.
