22 June 2016 - It is organized and promoted by prof. Antonio Abbate, former student UCBM, the international summer school scheduled from 13 June to 16 July and hosted byUniversità Campus Bio-Medico di Roma. Graduated in Medicine at UCBM, Abbate has lived in Richmond since 2004, where – in addition to carrying out clinical activities – he is a professor of Cardiology at the Pauley Heart Center of Virginia Commonwealth University.
Abbate has created an intense training program for the summer, lasting 3 weeks, dedicated to the best students of the American university and also open to Italians. Thanks to the support of the Campus Bio-Medico Alumni Association, 5 students were selected among the most deserving of the second and third year of the Degree Course in Medicine and Surgery UCBM. Biagio Maria Sancetta, Adriana Ingravalle, Pasquale Maria Pecoraro, Camilla Dionisi and Giuseppe Migliaro had the opportunity to participate in the international experience "Discover Medicine in Italy".
At the center of the lessons, which are also held at the Sapienza University of Rome and at the Catholic University of the Sacred Heart, are the Introduction to Medical Semiotics course, the study of the symptoms and signs of the disease and the teaching of Introduction to Translational Research, i.e. the transformation of results obtained through research into clinical applications.
