"XI International Conference on Computational Bioengineering” (ICCB 2025), September 8–10

Rome, 8 September 2025 – The'XI International Conference on Computational Bioengineering (ICCB 2025), one of the most prestigious international conferences dedicated to computational bioengineeringThe event, now in its eleventh edition, transforms theUniversità Campus Bio-Medico di Roma (UCBM) in a global hub of bioengineering research, welcoming until September 10th over 130 scientists, researchers and professionals from all over the world

The congress is organized by the UCBM Academy, a University hub dedicated to the growth and development of new skills in the fields of science, engineering, and medicine. The Academy is configured as a laboratory of innovation and lifelong learning, where refresher courses, specialized master's degrees, and research activities are closely integrated with the needs of business, healthcare, and society. ICCB 2025 thus becomes not only a scientific event of international importance, but also a key step in the path UCBM Academy consolidates its mission of training a new generation of researchers and professionals capable of driving innovation.
The scientific program combines academic leadership with leading international speakers: Alessio Gizzi (ERC Consolidator), Full Professor of the Departmental Faculty of Engineering, Emiliano Schena, President of the Degree Course in Biomedical Engineering UCBM, and Loredana Zollo, Dean of the Departmental Faculty of Ingengineering UCBM together with world-famous keynote speaker, will hold keynote on advanced multidisciplinary topics covering various areas of computational bioengineering.

Additionally, over 100 researchers from five continents will present their studies at 5 mini-symposia, selected through a rigorous abstract evaluation process by the scientific committee. Topics at the center of the debate include: Physiological systems modeling, theoretical and computational biomechanics, numerical computing, personalized medicine, assistive and rehabilitative robotics, 3D bioprinting, artificial intelligence applied to medicine, nanomedicine, neural engineering, and human-machine interfaces
"Hosting ICCB 2025 represents for our University a recognition of its scientific excellence and its ability to combine advanced research and technological innovation." - he claims Andrea Rossi, CEO and General Director ofUniversità Campus Bio-Medico di Roma that holds the top spot. "UCBM Academy It is a space where education, research, and business meet to discuss the most cutting-edge frontiers of computational bioengineering, from physiological systems modeling to artificial intelligence applied to medicine, 3D bioprinting, and rehabilitation robotics. The participation of international experts and speakers strengthens its role as an interdisciplinary hub where scientific research opens new perspectives for technological development and the transformation of innovation into concrete results.».
"The commitment to organize the first international conference on Computational Bioengineering at UCBM Academy started with the official application (Bid to Host), presented on the occasion of the tenth edition in 2013 at the prestigious TU Wien» – adds the Prof. Alessio Gizzi, Professor of Construction Science at the Departmental Faculty of Engineering of theUniversità Campus Bio-Medico di Roma, Scientific Director of the event and winner of the prestigious ERC Consolidator Grant that holds the top spot. "Over the next two years, we worked with great dedication alongside the co-chairs and the Local Organizing Committee, aiming to ensure excellent results both scientifically and organizationally. It was a true team effort, which allowed us to gather valuable input from UCBM Academy brings together some of the most authoritative exponents of a highly interdisciplinary international community, capable of combining basic science, engineering, and medicine to promote the advancement of knowledge. Ci We hope that this represents only the first of a long series of scientific events hosted at UCBM Academy, capable of consolidating a path of excellence in research”
In addition to the scientific works, the congress also includes moments of networking and socializing, Including a gala dinner at Castel Gandolfo, which will offer participants an opportunity to meet and appreciate the area's cultural heritage.

The event strengthens the position of UCBM Academy as a HUB of major international events and represents an important showcase for Italy in the context of advanced biomedical research
