The University is the only node in Lazio in the network of highly specialized centers that will participate in the project Arts 4.0, launched today in Pontedera at the Scuola Superiore Sant'Anna in Pisa and financed by the Ministry for Economic Development
Rome, June 19 2018 – The project for Hospital 4.0 is born and focuses heavily on robotics and digital technologies to change the face of services and activities of healthcare companies and companies operating in the healthcare sector: a line of research that sees theUniversità Campus Bio-Medico di Roma protagonist - as well as the only 'node' in Lazio – of the national network which has the objective of profoundly renewing, among the various areas, also that of our country's health and hospital services, increasing their effectiveness, efficiency, quality and safety. The Roman Athenaeum is in fact uno degli hub national of Fine Arts (Advanced Robotics and Enabling digital Technologies & Systems) 4.0, the Competence Center which met for the first time today at the Scuola Superiore Sant'Anna di Pisa in Pontedera (PI), the body which will coordinate it at national level.
Approved by MISE as part of the tender for 'Highly Specialized Competence Centers', the project Arts 4.0 sees involved, in addition to UCBM, 13 other institutions including universities and research centres e 146 between companies, foundations and other subjects public-private.
"The Università Campus Bio-Medico di Roma identified the theme 'Hospital 4.0' as a strategic line of development 2017-2019 – explains the Rector of the University, Raffaele Calabrò that's why he's promoting research programs which have already made it possible to achieve an adequate concentration of skills, to be made available to companies interested in starting innovation paths in this field. For the initiative in question has already found important synergies with INAIL, Unindustria Lazio, which has just activated the 'Cicero' Digital Innovation Hub Lazio, as well as with the Regional Directorate for Economic Development and the Productive Activities of Lazio and with various companies in our university network".
The Università Campus Bio-Medico di Roma will be site of three network nodes Arts 4.0, able to offer services for: realizing innovation projects, industrial research and experimental development, in collaboration with companies and businesses in the health sector; arrange instruments support to healthcare companies and companies in the healthcare, biomedical and biotechnological sectors in assessing their technological level and digital maturity; field classroom training activities on the methods of production of health products and services and on real applications.
The network Arts 4.0 and, therefore, also the three areas of the 'Hospital 4.0' competence center at UCBM, will be activated by 2018 and they will begin to perform pilot projects with companies co-financed by the MISE, which will gradually consolidate an offer of services that could become an important one competitive factor and sustainability for the entire public and private health sector, in Lazio and in Italy.
