The day aims to promote collaboration between hematology and clinical pharmacology for the management of infectious complications in the hematological patient
June 28, 2018 – Infectious complications have always been a major issue in the management of patients with blood disorders. For some years, the introduction ofnew drugs target in the treatment of haematological malignancies it has certainly led to a considerable improvement in the prognosis, but on the other hand it has placed clinicians in the face of an ever-increasing difficulty in managing these therapies, both for the occurrence of infections (even in patients suffering from chronic diseases in which historically they were not found) and for the problem of drug interactions between these new molecules and the other drugs that are commonly administered to patients, especially the elderly.
Thursday 4 October will be held at UCBM an ECM course dedicated to "Clinical pharmacology for the hematologist". The training day, which entitles you to the acquisition of 8 ECM credits, has it purpose to highlight how the active collaboration between hematologists and clinical pharmacologists is currently a necessary tool to improve the appropriateness of the treatment of blood diseases, with particular reference to management of infectious complications and antimicrobial therapy.
The course is aimed at hematologists, clinical pharmacologists, infectious disease specialists, microbiologists and virologists, biologists, hospital pharmacists and paediatricians, for a maximum of 60 participants. It is also open to postgraduates.
