During the morning the story of the innovative experiences and the presentation of the Hansel university project.
Industry 4.0 is entering the healthcare sector, but are entrepreneurs ready to lead the change? The digitization of the factory is the last frontier of the pharmaceutical industry: the European Union is the area that invests the most in research and development in this sector but in Italy there is still a lot to do. Investments are destined to soar in the coming years, but businesses still need support to face change with confidence, feeling adequately protected from the risks associated with new technologies.
The information and data obtainable in the company thanks to Artificial Intelligence, Internet of Things and Blockchain, will be able to increase the productivity of the drug supply chain, from the production plant to the hospital, making it more flexible and efficient and reducing production costs. The theme was at the center of the workshop "Healthcare 4.0: digitization from the pharmaceutical industry", organized by Università Campus Bio-Medico di Roma UCBM in collaboration with ISPE Italy e Sport to take stock of a rapidly evolving sector. L'Università Campus Bio-Medico di Roma identified the theme 'Hospital 4.0' among its strategic lines of development 2017-2019 and is the only node in Lazio of Artes (Advanced Robotics and Enabling digital Technologies & Systems) 4.0, the Highly Specialized Competence Center of the Ministry of Economic Development.

On the business front it was the president of Confindustria Digitale, Elio Catania, to point out how "When we talk about the digital transformation of healthcare, as well as other economic sectors, we are talking about the overall redesign of organizational and production processes, with the aim of increasing the efficiency of the entire system - he explained in his speech - which means improving the quality of services, rationalize and control spending, eliminate waste. It is there for all to see that in Italian healthcare this is happening only in extremely fragmented terms, in the almost total absence of concerted and shared strategies between local and central players. The result is a patchwork geography of digital healthcare, with islands of excellence, such as the Biomedical Campus, which are confronted with territorial situations of absolute digital backwardness. The goodwill of individuals, hospitals, doctors and enlightened managers of the Local Health Authorities is not enough to make a real change. The day, moderated by prof. Roberto Setola of the Departmental Faculty of Engineering of the Campus Bio-Medico University, hosted authoritative speeches such as those by Elisabetta Pozzetti by Farmindustria, Teresa Mineo, president of Ispe Italy, Sandro DeCaris president of Gamp e Giorgio Minotti, dean of the Departmental Faculty of Medicine and Surgery Ucbm. Numerous cutting-edge industrial experiences on Cybersecurity systems for Pharma 4.0 were presented.
In particular, during the workshop, theUniversità Campus Bio-Medico di Roma presented the HANSEL project, funded by Lazio region within the project AGREEMENTS, which points to technological transfer of skills in the industrial automation sector in the hospital and pharmaceutical fields. HANSEL integrates a series of technologies provided by various industrial partners with the aim of creating an environment suitable for both testing for functionality check and the compatibility of different technologies, both for activities of showroom and training for businesses, as well as for the analysis of cyber-security issues.
