From 14th to 16th October, at Villa Erba in Cernobbio, the ComoLake 2025 – Digital Innovation Forum, which brought together Nobel laureates, business leaders, scientists, and government representatives to discuss the future of digital, artificial intelligence, and quantum computing.
During the second day, one of the most anticipated events was the round table "Human Functioning and Rehabilitation Medicine. Hi-tech & AI Synergies", moderated by Richard Knight (Rai News 24), which explored the dialogue between technological innovation and rehabilitation medicine, with particular attention to the role of artificial intelligence in treatment processes.
Among the speakers were: Federica Bressi, Full Professor of Physical and Rehabilitation Medicine at theUniversità Campus Bio-Medico di Roma, Together with Massimo Caputi (CEO of AI4Sport), Franco Molteni (Villa Beretta Rehabilitation Research Innovation Institute), Alessandra Pedrocchi (Polytechnic of Milan) and Marco Sacco (National Research Council).
In his speech at the thematic session on "Human Functioning and Rehabilitation Medicine" the Prof. Bressi presented the projects and experience of theUniversità Campus Bio-Medico di Roma applied to pathologies such as stroke, Parkinson's disease, balance disorders, and issues related to aging, underlining the importance of exchange and support for research by companies.
The panel focused on technological innovation, robotics, and artificial intelligence applied to rehabilitation. "We discussed interesting perspectives on the prevention, treatment and management of some highly disabling pathologies. – underlined the prof Bressi - In Como, the need to continue developing increasingly "intelligent" and human-interactive robots and tools was also discussed, to further advance the goal of personalized, tailor-made rehabilitation.
The second day of ComoLake 2025 also saw a series of plenary sessions on central themes for European technological competitiveness, including "From Data to Territory: AI, Industry and Environment" e "Quantum Money & Post-Quantum Cryptography", with the participation of representatives from Google, AWS, IBM, TIM, Open Fiber, Reply, Enel, CNR and the Polytechnic University of Milan.
