All the information to return to the classroom safely

23 April 2021 - In the light of the Law Decree n. 52 of 22 April 2021 relating to "Murgent measures for the gradual recovery of economic and social activities in compliance with the need to contain the spread of the COVID-19 epidemic", on Monday 26 April 2021, the Campus Bio-Medico University gradually resumes teaching activities always in full compliance with safety standards.

In particular, referring to the art. 3 paragraph 4 of the Decree Law* we report below the operating procedures for the coming months, approved by the Academic Senate in the extraordinary session of 20 April:

  • the current organization and current timetable of training activities in mixed mode, with shifts, staggered access into three time slots and compliance with internal safety protocols, remains confirmed; timely monitoring of daily attendance will be carried out;

  • the organization of laboratory, training and simulation activities remains guaranteed in the presence and in compliance with internal safety protocols;

  • the widest attendance at the library is ensured, which will be open from 8.30 to 20.00 on weekdays and from 8.30 to 14.00 on Saturdays;

  • the catering service is guaranteed to all students present at the University on shifts or authorized for specific training activities by the relevant professors. Students are required to strictly comply with the scheduled time slot in order to guarantee the correct management of flows in the restaurant hall. It is not possible to consume packed meals inside the University premises but it will be possible to do so at the gazebos located on the lawn of the Cesa building, carefully placing any residue in the appropriate bins;

  • the spaces for individual study activities within the University are reactivated, limited to students present on shifts or authorized for specific training activities by the relevant professors;

  • the training activities of the doctoral students can be carried out in presence; they will be allowed to carry out research and laboratory activities in the presence.

Exams and graduation sessions

As regards the conduct of exams and graduation sessions, the Academic Senate has resolved that:

  • exam sessions can be organized until the end of May both in presence and remotely; instead, starting from 1 June 2021, the exams will take place only in presence, ensuring compliance with internal safety protocols;

  • the graduation sessions will all take place in presence starting from 1 June 2021 and a maximum of five family members will be allowed to participate for each graduating student. Graduation ceremonies, even in private form, will not be permitted within the University.

Both exams and graduation sessions can be carried out remotely if the impossibility is documented with objective reasons related to the pandemic.

The aforementioned rules remain valid until new decisions which will be linked to the evolution of the pandemic framework and the consequent regulations.

All students are invited to fully respect the rules of conduct and safety in order to demonstrate the highest level of responsibility of each one for the protection of the entire Academic Community (students, teachers and all staff).

Our University will continue to carefully monitor compliance with the containment measures, which are still necessary at the moment, in the hope that the long-awaited normality can be achieved as soon as possible.

*"From 26 April 2021 and until 31 July 2021, in the yellow and orange areas, the teaching and curricular activities of the universities are carried out primarily in presence according to the plans for organizing teaching and curricular activities prepared in compliance with the guidelines and protocols of security referred to in the provisions adopted in implementation of article 2, paragraph 1, of the decree-law n. 19 of 2020. In the same period, in the red zone, the plans for organizing teaching and curricular activities referred to in the first period may provide for the carrying out of the teachings relating to the first year of the study courses or training activities in the presence of the training activities aimed at classes with a small number of students. Throughout the country, the same organization plans for teaching and curricular activities envisage, unless otherwise assessed by the universities, the presence of exams, tests and graduation sessions, orientation and tutoring activities, laboratories, as well as the opening of libraries, reading rooms and study rooms, also taking into account the specific training needs of students with disabilities and students with specific learning disabilities"
