Rome, 31 July 2020 - The Board of Directors of theUniversità Campus Bio-Medico di Roma renewed for another two years the mandate of Rector of the University to prof. Raffaele Calabrò.
Calabrò arrived at the helm of the Roman university in 2017, on the eve of the twenty-fifth anniversary of its foundation, and has followed the development of numerous strategic projects from the birth of the new degree courses created by listening to the needs of companies such as those in Intelligent Systems Engineering and Food Science and Technology and Supply Chain Management, at the start of the Degree Course in Medicine and Surgery in English, until the birth of the third Faculty of Science and Technology for Man and the Environment.
“I have known our university since before it was born - he recalled calabrò - since it was just a project, when together with others I started imagining a different university, based on the contamination of knowledge, on the interaction and collaboration between disciplines, on the centrality of the person whether worker, student or the patient to be treated ”.
At the time of reconfirmation, Prof. calabrò, who will remain in office until October 31, 2022, said: “I would like to thank the President Barela and the Board of Directors for confirming me in the role of leading this university. We are living in a time characterized by many uncertainties but also great dynamism and opportunities for growth. We are aware of being a young university in full expansion and maturation phase characterized both by many ongoing and future initiatives, and by the development of a cultural and educational university project".
In the coming years theUniversità Campus Bio-Medico di Roma will see a further development of its training offer, of the structures dedicated to teaching and research projects, further increasing its interdisciplinary, international, inclusive vocation. For this the rector calabrò he pointed out: “Important challenges await us that we want to face with the spirit that has guided us over the years, with the ability to dream, with hope and optimism in our work, focusing on the values that distinguish us such as the primacy of the person over technology, the centrality of the student, passion for truth and research, openness to dialogue, comparison, collaboration between all components of the university".
