The objectives of the PhD courses UCBM
-
The PhD in Bioengineering, Applied Sciences and Intelligent Systems aims to train experts able to carry out scientific and technological research activities aimed at the well-being of the person in all areas of lifeincluding work and social ones. In this context, importance is given to the skills that characterize the bioengineering, basic sciences applied to life sciences and information Technology which, due to their pervasive nature, play an important role in innovation processes at all levels and in all areas.
Coordinator of this Research Doctorate is Prof Loredana Zollo, Professor of Industrial Bioengineering, President of the Master's Degree in Biomedical Engineering. -
The PhD in Sustainable Development: Environment, Food and Health aims to train experts able to carry out basic and applied research for the well-being of the person and the environment with particular attention to the food sector, of nutrition and energy with a global vision and attentive to the areas of sustainability. To achieve its objectives, the Board of Professors is attended by researchers who belong to different disciplinary areas and who have scientific curricula that testify to activities on the topics of the doctoral course.
The coordinator of this PhD is prof Chiara Fanali, Full Professor of Analytical Chemistry, President of the Degree Course in Food and Human Nutrition Sciences. -
The PhD in Integrative Biomedical Sciences and Bioethics has as its objective train and educate graduates in an interdisciplinary approach to research. The future research doctorate will have the opportunity to have professional opportunities in the field of basic, pre-clinical and clinical research, in academic realities, as well as in structures where the increasingly emerging problems relating to bioethics are addressed, such as foundations, non-profit associations etc.
CThe coordinator of this Research Doctorate is prof. Raffaele Antonelli Incalzi, Professor of Internal Medicine, Director of the School of Specialization in Internal Medicine.
- The Research Doctorate in Artificial Intelligence (AI) is divided into 5 doctoral courses based at 5 different universities federated with each other and with the National Research Council for the integrated coordination of this program at national level, which involves a total of 61 universities and research institutions. THEUniversità Campus Bio-Medico di Roma is the leader for the AI for Health and Life Sciences sector. In this field, the application of AI and, in particular, the integration of AI, IoT & Biorobotics prefigures scenarios of rapid evolution towards precision medicine, an increasingly predictive, personalized, participatory and preventive medicine. The training course involves the conception, study, design, development and application of innovative methods, tools and systems that can be used both for basic biological and bio-engineering research, and for experimental, translational and clinical medical research , in order to maximize the impact of this research on human health, well-being, safety and quality of life, including in longevity.
CThe coordinator of the Research Doctorate is prof. Eugenio Guglielmelli, Professor of Industrial Bioengineering, Vice-Rector for Research UCBM.
