“Food Science and Technology and Supply Chain Management” and “Medicine and Surgery” in English: doors open to future students on the professional profiles most in demand on the international job market

01 July 2019 - Two new degree courses by "Food Science and Technology and Supply Chain Management" and "Medicine and Surgery" in English are added to the training offer of theUniversità Campus Bio-Medico di Roma. Monday 8 July from 14.30 hours the University opens its doors to young people to raise awareness of the themes, the opportunities of the labor market, the teachers, the laboratories and the spaces of university life.

The courses of Medicine, Nursing, Radiology Techniques, Physiotherapy, Food Sciences and Industrial Engineering, Biomedical Engineering and Chemical Engineering for Sustainable Development. After the presentations and discussions with the teachers, a guided tour of the research laboratories and university spaces will put the students in contact with the beating heart of the Departmental Faculties of Reproductive, Engineering and the nascent Faculty of Science and Technology for Man and the Environment.

On July 8 it will be possible to obtain the information and details on admissions and simulate the entrance tests. They will be set up dedicated info points to the services offered to students of the University: from Career Service the chances of getting scholarships e concessions along the entire university path, getting to know the different activities and opportunities offered by university life such as the projects of university cooperation and those of voluntary work. Space also for the presentation of extra-curricular activities, from sports proposals al theater workshop, up to moments of aggregation and real events such as the Campus' Got Talent.

Among the proposed laboratories, the one dedicated to the degree course in Food and Human Nutrition Sciences offers the possibility of find out the consistency of gluten in wheat flour and its absence in chickpea flour. In fact, the boys will be invited to mix water, flour and salt. The experiment aims to illustrate to the participants the practical application of food chemistry, one of the basic subjects of the degree course.

More space will be dedicated to Nursing check-up. In this laboratory, children interested in the health profession will be able to measure your vital signs (for example blood pressure and heart rate) through different tools, know the body mass index, detect pain based on special scales and learn how to wash hands with an alcoholic solution. Each participant will be issued a summary sheet of the parameters detected and instructions.

Two other laboratories are dedicated to kids who have the passion of engineering combined with medicine. In this case, the applications of the sensors developed for engineering use in the food sector will be illustrated to the participants.
