The first Italian university to receive the prestigious award

June 30, 2021 - The Games Council of the PCU Committee (university platform of Panathlon International, recognized by International Olympic Committee, which organizes and supports university sporting events with a focus on fair play and ethics in sport) after examining all the applications awarded the Enrico Prandi Trophy 2021 atUniversità Campus Bio-Medico di Roma for the project "Vir(tu) at the Campus Olympic Games". This is a prestigious accolade, unique in the world of university sport and the highest honor a university can achieve in relation toethics in college sport. 

A project that was awarded among the numerous activities that theUniversità Campus Bio-Medico di Roma has set up for the promotion and diffusion of sporting values ​​ranging from "Path of sports culture" which offers technical-scientific lessons with the presence of Olympic and Paralympic athletes a "UCBM Sports", the thematic sports news on University Youtube channel which explores the technical and value aspects of individual sports up to tournaments, challenges and the virtual Olympic Games created through online quizzes. "I strongly believe that sport is a valuable tool, at university level, to develop our students' international interaction and experience - highlights Paul CampograndeSports Director UCBM - I am proud of this achievement which represents an important starting point for fruitful international collaborations". 

Enrico Prandi, born on May 21, 1945, is the Past President of Panathlon International, former member of the Cultural Commission of the International Olympic Committee and former President of the Italian Basketball League. In 2010 he initiated the idea of ​​creating a university platform within Panathlon International for promote ethics in sport also within the global university community.
