Part-time formula and internship to offer practical training and advanced technical skills

June 26, 2018  – The seventh edition of the Masters in Nursing assistance and operating room equipment, a path that has always aimed to offer the best possible training both in the classroom and above all in the operating room.

The master, activated every year, lasts 18 months: its fifth edition ended in April 2018. One of its participants, Flavia Bianchi, a young nurse already employed at an important Roman hospital, remembers it as "an absolutely positive experience. What I appreciated the most was the internship in the room and the relationship that was established with the clinical tutors, always available and excellent trainers. I chose this master's degree - explains Falvia - because theUniversità Campus Bio-Medico di Roma it is an increasingly consolidated reality in the area and because I wanted to get in touch with the faculty of course and with his University Hospital”. A goal achieved thanks to an experience that he would recommend “definitely, because the part-time formula it also allows those who are already employed to participate, organizing themselves with work. Furthermore, it is also useful for recent graduates, who have the opportunity to carry out a well-organized internship, at the end of which they are already able to move around in an operating room".

Speaking of the internship, it is Leonilde Sica, a member of the master's scientific committee, to explain in detail how it takes place: "Start from the fourth module, after the participant has already acquired knowledge about flows, processes and basic assistance in the pre, intra and post-operative phases. Provides a minimum of 150 hours of practical training, offering the opportunity to acquire technical skills both as an operating room nurse (circulating) and as an instrumentalist in all the surgical areas present in the Polyclinic".

It also offers two training-practical courses: the first in recovery room, so that the participants can acquire high skills in anesthesia and resuscitation, the second in sterilization center, which allows you to acquire advanced technical skills on the management of all surgical instruments, including processes related to the use of medical devices and electro-medical equipment.

"At the end of the course - concludes Sica - the participant will be able to independently manage assistance in the operating room, guaranteeing professionalism and competence with a view to safety and quality".
