"Let's learn to read the book of our heart" is the message launched by the Holy Father
Today, November 300, 30 students, teachers and employees of the University participated in theGeneral Audience of the Holy Father, the first in Advent time. At the center of catechesis for the many faithful gathered in St. Peter's Square a reflection on discernment and, in particular, on the spiritual experience of true consolation.
How to recognize it? "Authentic consolation - said the Pope - it is a sort of confirmation of the fact that we are fulfilling what God wants of us, that we walk on his paths, that is, on the paths of life, of joy, of peace. Discernment, in fact, does not simply focus on the good or on the greatest possible good, but on what is good for me here and now: I am called to grow on this, putting limits on other attractive but unreal proposals, so as not to be deceived in the search for the true good".
The Pontiff urged us to reflect on how to distinguish a good spirit from a bad one: "The more we know ourselves, the more we notice where the bad spirit enters, its passwords, the entrance doors of our heart, which are the points on which we are most sensitive, so as to pay attention to them for the future".
As usual, the Pope's thoughts went to the young, the sick, the elderly and the newly weds. In this season of Advent invites us to meet the Lord through prayer, penance and works of charity to prepare ourselves to celebrate the birth of Jesus by listening assiduously to the Word of God and generously responding to his grace.
At the end of the Audience, referring to the Italian-speaking faithful, the Pope mentioned "the group ofUniversità Campus Bio-Medico di Roma" who greeted him by waving hundreds of flags.
Some of the participants in the Audience had the opportunity to greet the Pope personally. The students gave him two letters to express, as well as affection and closeness, the desire to train as professionals capable of molding themselves in empathy and welcoming the next. They then gave the Pope a personal badge as an invitation to visit our University as soon as possible.
