The initiatives UCBM in light of the Covid-19 situation

17 March, 2020 - In light of the Covid-19 situation theUniversità Campus Bio-Medico di Roma is working intensely in recent days in order to put in place the necessary tools to guarantee the continuation of teaching activities remotely.

Distance lessons

We are proceeding with remote lessons, thanks also to the support of student representatives, useful for a process of continuous improvement.

Distance graduations and exams

The extraordinary graduation session entirely remote will also start from Friday 20 March. In particular: the extraordinary session of Medicine and Surgery will take place on Friday 20 March; the extraordinary session of Sanu will take place on Tuesday 24 March and the extraordinary session of Sanum will take place on Friday 27 March. Every three days starting at 9.00 in the morning.

This week the exams will resume and will be performed remotely. By way of example but not limited to, on March 20th there will be Pathological Anatomy, then on March 23rd there will be Medical Clinic and Introduction to Medicine (the latter will also continue on March 24th), also on March 23rd there will be the completion of Biochemistry and Plant Biotechnology and on 25 and 26 March there will be Legal Medicine.

Students who have booked themselves for the scheduled exams will be contacted by the Student Secretariat which will provide them with all the useful detailed information.

The teachers are evaluating, for each scheduled exam, the most suitable way of carrying it out, in particular for the exams originally scheduled in written form.

Work is already underway to plan, for the end of the emergency period, the recovery of a series of activities that cannot be carried out during the suspension of teaching activities; however, it should be considered that the uncertainty in the duration of the suspension requires all of us to carry out as many activities as possible remotely.

Support email

The University, with the spirit of supporting and sustaining students, for the entire duration of the COVID-19 emergency, has made available a new email channel to request information on teaching and other activities carried out in an innovative way (eLearning exams, graduation thesis discussion, etc.). The email to contact is [email protected].
In this regard, it should be noted that requests must only concern clarifications of a technical or IT or procedural nature, as reference must always be made to the teacher regarding the contents of the lessons.

The Covid-19 phenomenon is causing serious damage in the world, many also in Italy with considerable suffering and deaths of people. In addition to the health issue, there will obviously be economic repercussions on families and businesses. The challenge for the University is therefore to transform this threat into an opportunity that can make us mature and become stronger, above all in order to be able to support the weakest people who need it, with a view to national solidarity.

Heartfelt thanks to all those who have generously responded to the call to donate blood in these days, UCBM is very grateful on behalf of all the patients who are benefiting.
