Technological innovation at the service of humanity

July 29, 2020 - The Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers, the IEEE, is the world's largest professional association dedicated to advancing technological innovation and excellence for the benefit of humanity with more than 421.000 members in more than 160 countries. Its Italian section has just awarded two important prizes to associations strongly linked toUniversità Campus Bio-Medico di Roma. In particular: theIEEE Student Branch UCBM has gained recognition as Most Improved Chapter 2020 el 'IEEE Sensors Chapter has been awarded as Most Innovative Chapter for the year 2020.

The Student Branch is an association open to all students of the University which, over the last year, has organized more than 30 events including seminars, hackathons and webinars. To be awarded the officers Andrea Sailing ships, Rocco Bevilacqua, Chiara Romano, Emanuele Abbagnano and Riccardo Sabbadini.

The Sensors Chapter, in its third year of activity, involves some of the leading experts in the field of sensors and is chaired by prof. Emiliano Schena (Biomedical Measurements and Instrumentation Unit UCBM), together with Prof. Lorenzo Capineri (University of Florence), prof.ssa Saccomandi (Milan Polytechnic) and prof. Danilo Pani (University of Cagliari).

The awards obtained are an important testimony to the high quality standard of the activities carried out at theUniversità Campus Bio-Medico di Roma.
