"Patient-specific approach and multidisciplinarity: the two key words for the future of medicine"- Amedeo Anselmi, Alumnus UCBM met ours students to share his experiences and his vision.
A specialist in cardiac surgery and Associate Professor of Cardiac Surgery at CHU Rennes (France), Amedeo focuses on the surgical treatment of acquired heart diseases in adults: from valvular diseases to advanced heart failure, from thoracic aortic aneurysms to coronary artery disease.
In his dialogue with the students, he highlighted two important elements for the evolution of the medical profession: "First of all, it is essential to evaluate each individual patient immediately and in the context of their entire health journey.". The second keyword is instead "multidisciplinarity", divided into two essential dimensions: between medical specialties and in the medicine-engineering interaction.
"The medicine of the future requires a global vision of the patient through a multidisciplinary approach that combines skills capable of meeting the needs of today's and tomorrow's society." concluded Amedeo.
