On Tuesday 20 May, the Rector of theUniversità Campus Bio-Medico di Roma, prof. Eugenio Guglielmelli, took part in the signing ceremony of the Community Educational Pact at l 'Marta Russo Comprehensive Institute of Trigoria. The agreement, which unites the school with a network of institutional, social, cultural and sporting entities, was born with the aim of Strengthen the educational alliance between school and territory, to combat school dropout, promote and expand the educational offering, as well as build a real educational community that is increasingly multidisciplinary in science, art, sport and culture.
During the meeting, the Rector underlined the importance of valorizing every opportunity for cooperation between the University and local educational institutions, in the logic of an integrated approach to well-being and health that embraces all stages of life and actively involves even the youngest.
The University's contribution is realized through numerous initiatives already active with the Marta Russo Comprehensive Institute: from the participation of students in academic and scientific events, such as "European Researchers' Night", to health prevention laboratories in primary and secondary schools, up to the creation of innovative spaces such as themultisensory classroom snoezelen, designed for the well-being of the most vulnerable students.
The signing of the Pact represents a fundamental step towards a shared education model, which aims to transform the school into a civic and cultural hub open to the neighborhood, thanks also to the support of the IX Municipio of Rome, local associations and numerous third sector actors.
"Education is not child's play" – says the title of the initiative – and this Pact demonstrates it: a choral commitment, which puts the needs of young people at the center and calls into question the responsibility of the entire community.
